Kansas City South Rotary supports Cass County Dental Clinic
GRANDVIEW, Mo., (Nov. 7, 2017) – Cass County Dental Clinic recently received a $1,000 donation from the Kansas City South Rotary Club. The KC South Rotary is committed to supporting local organizations in the South Kansas City, Grandview and Martin City area. This year’s club members elected to support Cass Community Health Foundation’s safety net dental clinic.
Cass County Dental Clinic offers dental services to children and adolescents age zero to 20 who are low-income uninsured or insured by Missouri Medicaid. In 2016, the clinic treated 3,150 underserved children at its two locations in Belton and Harrisonville, Missouri.
“Support from organizations like the Kansas City South Rotary Club is vital to Cass County Dental Clinic’s success,” Cynthia Randazzo, Cass Community Health Foundation president, said. “Serving low-income youth is a community effort. We are honored to partner with such a generous organization to improve oral health in Cass County and Grandview.”
The Kansas City South Rotary, established in 1962, serves the South Kansas City, Grandview and Martin City communities. They support local initiatives including Grandview Assistance Program, Community Assistance Council, Ozanam/Cornerstones of Care and many others. Their signature international project involved converting a building in an impoverished Dominican Republican community into a hospital. The facility services more than 35,000 patients a year who previously had no access to health care. The hospital has also become the largest employer in the area.
"Few people understand that good dental health is a key contributor to one's general health," Dave Wilmshorst, Kansas City South Rotary president, said. "The Cass County Dental Clinic has shown itself to be an excellent provider of this service to those children who may not otherwise have access to any dental health care. We fully support their efforts and wanted to make this contribution to the success of their mission."
