Local medical center and dental clinic receive fundraising awards
BELTON, Mo., (June 15, 2016) – Belton Regional Medical Center and Cass County Dental Clinic have been named the top fundraising teams for Cass Community Health Foundation’s 22nd Annual Walk for Health.
Cass Community Health Foundation (CCHF) hosted the Walk for Health Saturday, May 7. More than 300 community members helped raise a net income of nearly $47,000 for the Cass County Dental Clinic (CCDC).
Members of both the Belton Regional Medical Center and the Cass County Dental Clinic teams collected pledges to benefit the Foundation’s dental clinics in Belton and Harrisonville. The clinics are the only safety net dental clinics in Cass County serving low-income youth.
Belton Regional Medical Center raised $3,187 for CCDC and was given the top team fundraising award. Todd Krass, team member and Belton Regional Medical Center CEO, was awarded the top individual fundraiser and was given a 40-inch flat screen TV for his efforts. Krass plans to donate the TV to help raise funds for the American Heart Walk later this month.
The CCDC team was given the award for the highest pledge average, raising an average of nearly $300 per team member or a total of $2,045.
“We are extremely appreciative that two organizations that are also striving for improved health in Cass County have taken initiative in supporting our cause. The Belton Regional Medical Center and Cass County Dental Clinic teams have provided a great deal of support in serving low-income youth in the area,” Cynthia Randazzo, CCHF president, said.
The annual Walk for Health consists of a four-mile walk that begins and ends at Belton Regional Medical Center. The walk is followed by a health fair, sponsored by Belton Regional Medical Center, and celebration, sponsored by Cosentino’s Price Chopper, with food, music and children’s activities. Next year’s Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017.
