Safety net dental clinic serves Cass County for five years

BELTON, Mo., (July 7, 2016) – Cass County Dental Clinic, the first and only safety net dental clinic in Cass County, is celebrating five years of improved oral health for local children and adolescents.

Cass Community Health Foundation (CCHF) opened the Clinic in Belton, Missouri on July 6, 2011. The Clinic was opened to eliminate oral disease through preventive education, early intervention and comprehensive dental care for low-income, uninsured children and those insured by Missouri Medicaid. A satellite clinic was opened in Harrisonville, Missouri in July 2015 to expand access to oral health care throughout Cass County. Since 2011, the Clinic has provided services to nearly 6,000 underserved children through 24,000 dental visits.

“Access to dental treatment is vital to community wellness. Providing oral health care to low-income families for the past five years has helped to improve the overall health of youth in our communities,” Cynthia Randazzo, CCHF president, said. “We hope to build on this tradition and continue to serve Cass County for many years to come.”
