Southwick honored for service as Cass Community Health Foundation chairman

BELTON, Mo., (June 11, 2019) – Cass Community Health Foundation (CCHF) is celebrating the long-time service of Dr. Kenny Southwick. Southwick recently completed his term as chairman of the CCHF Board of Directors.

Southwick was elected to the CCHF Board of Directors in 2001 and has served as a board member for 18 years. He took on the role of chairman in 2010, making him the longest acting chair in the history of the foundation.

Under Southwick’s leadership, CCHF developed a strategic plan following the end of its affiliation as the foundation of Research Belton Hospital. He led the effort to open two safety net dental clinics in Belton and Harrisonville. The clinics have become the dental home for more than 3,600 low-income children and teens every year.

“Kenny’s extensive administrative background provided tremendous leadership to Cass Community Health Foundation,” Cynthia Randazzo, CCHF president, said. “Through his experience as a school district superintendent, Kenny identified gaps that affected children in Cass County and the surrounding area. Without his guidance, some of our valuable community programs may never have become a reality.”

At his final board meeting as chairman, the CCHF Board of Directors and staff presented him with a handmade chair. Southwick will serve one final term as the immediate past chairman.
