BELTON, Mo., (Apr. 4, 2022) – Cass Community Health Foundation is inviting Cass County community members and area businesses to participate in the 28th Annual 5K for Health and help raise $75,000 for their safety net dental clinic, Cass County Dental Clinic. The 5K raises money for patients who receive dental care at clinic locations in Belton and Harrisonville. In 2021, nearly 3,700 children and teens were treated.
The 5K for Health is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at Southwick Stadium in Belton. Those interested in walking or running in the 5K should register online at casscommunityhealth.org/5k. Each participant pays the $40 registration fee and receives the official 5K for Health t-shirt, a numbered bib, and an invitation to the 5K for Health Block Party and Health Fair sponsored by Belton Regional Medical Center. The block party and health fair includes fun activities for the entire family and all-you-can-eat Chris Cakes.
“Several Cass County businesses, school leaders, teachers, dental professionals, and community members invested in the youth of this community have already signed up for the 28th Annual 5K for Health,” Cynthia Randazzo, Cass Community Health Foundation president said. “We are excited to have many more join us and help us raise $75,000 for Cass County Dental Clinic. This event is a fun, quick opportunity to show your support of the children we serve at the clinic.”
After registering for the event, participants can invite family and friends to donate to their fundraising page. Prizes will be awarded to walkers and runners who raise $150 or more.
This year, the event is chaired by City of Grandview alderman, Damon Randolph, and co-chaired by Grandview private dentist, Dr. Rob Tait. Belton Regional Medical Center and Cosentino’s Price Chopper serve as presenting sponsors and have provided decades of support for the event.
