BELTON, Mo., (Aug. 26, 2025) – Cass Community Health Foundation and the Belton School District are proud to announce continued collaboration through the foundation’s support of the Academies of Belton Healthcare Institute. The foundation will expand its health care scholarship program by contributing $9,900 toward tuition costs for up to 15 junior students in the Academies of Belton Healthcare Institute during the 2025–2026 school year.
“Cass Community Health Foundation is proud to continue investing in the education and development of future nurses and health care professionals,” said Cynthia Randazzo, President and CEO of Cass Community Health Foundation. “Our support of the Academies of Belton Healthcare Institute and the scholarships we award each year reflect our commitment to increasing access to health care careers and strengthening the health of our communities. We are honored to partner with the Belton School District in preparing students to succeed in both their academic and professional pursuits.”
The Healthcare Institute is a college-credit program that gives Belton High School juniors and seniors interested in health services the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and college-level training while still in high school. Through this early college model, students can earn up to 23 college credits over two years in foundational health care courses such as sociology, human nutrition, medical terminology, and fundamentals of speech.
“The Academies of Belton Healthcare Institute is more than a program, it's a launchpad for students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Thanks to the incredible support from the Cass Community Health Foundation and its generous donors, our students are gaining college credit, real-world experience and a head start on their future careers in nursing and related fields. This initiative reflects what’s possible when schools and communities work together. We are grateful to the Cass Community Health Foundation for investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Scott Sisemore, Dr. Scott Sisemore, Director of Academies at the Belton School District.
In addition to this program support, Cass Community Health Foundation continues to invest in the future of health care through scholarships for local students. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the foundation awarded $35,500 in scholarships to 29 students from Cass County and the surrounding area pursuing nursing and other health-related degrees.
Funding for scholarships is made possible through designated funds established by community donors who believe in supporting the next generation of nurses and health professionals.
