BELTON, Mo., (Aug. 10, 2026) – Three respected Cass County community leaders, Dan Astleford, Jake Larkey, and Dr. Shera Sims, have joined the Cass Community Health Foundation Board of Directors, bringing diverse experience and a shared commitment to improved health in the community.
Astleford was named the CEO of Belton Regional Medical Center in 2026. He brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience.
“I’m excited to join Cass Community Health Foundation’s Board of Directors because of the foundation’s deep commitment to expanding access to quality, compassionate care for the communities it serves,” Astleford said. “I look forward to supporting its mission, learning from fellow board members, and helping advance initiatives that improve health and well-being for families across the region.”
Larkey is a financial advisor with the Bridge to Wealth Team and has deep roots in Cass County. As a graduate of Belton High School, he now lives in Belton and is passionate about serving his community.
"Joining the Cass Community Health Foundation board energizes me because it’s a chance to strengthen our community, amplify voices that deserve to be heard, and turn compassion into action," Larkey said.
Dr. Sims is a board-certified pediatric dentist and owns A World of Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in Harrisonville, Missouri. She has volunteered for Cass Community Health Foundation’s school-based dental screening program and will continue to use her clinical expertise on the board to improve oral health and overall health for families in Cass County and the surrounding communities.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve on the Cass Community Health Foundation Board of Directors because it allows me to contribute to advancing oral health and the dental profession within our community. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, I have dedicated my career to providing quality care, advocating for children and families, and promoting preventive oral health practices,” Dr. Sims said. “Strong local leadership plays a vital role in fostering a healthy and informed community. I welcome the opportunity to contribute my clinical experience, leadership skills, and commitment to providing ethical patient care.”
