BELTON, Mo., (Dec. 13, 2021) – Cass County and surrounding area community members helped Cass Community Health Foundation raise nearly $75,000 for its safety net dental clinic’s 10th anniversary. The funds raised came from those who participated in the foundation’s annual 5K for Health and general donations to the 10th anniversary campaign.

In July, Cass Community Health Foundation and Cass County Dental Clinic launched a campaign to celebrate the important milestone. The campaign, Cass County Dental Clinic’s 10th Anniversary Celebration: A Dental Home for a Decade, allowed community members to help secure a future for the dental clinic and learn more about the care it provides.

The campaign offered several ways for patients and supporters to get involved. Cass County Dental Clinic hosted a drive through celebration Wednesday, August 4 at its Belton location. Patients and families were encouraged to attend to receive dental supplies, a take-home craft, and ice cream. Community members could also engage with the campaign by making a $10 monthly gift, sponsor a patient’s clinic visit, participate in the 5K, or make a general donation.

Cass Community Health Foundation’s Cass County Dental Clinic was established as Cass County Missouri’s, first safety net dental clinic in 2011. The first location opened in Belton with a second location opening in Harrisonville in 2015. The clinic serves thousands of low-income children and teens each year. Since its opening 10 years ago, more than 10,000 patients have walked through its doors and been welcomed into their dental home. In 2021, Cass County Dental Clinic will have treated more than 3,500 children in the community.

“The past 10 years have shown us that there is a need for safety net dental care in our community. Thousands of smiles have benefitted from Cass County Dental Clinic’s services,” Cynthia Randazzo, Cass Community Health Foundation president said. “But without support from the people in Cass County, our clinic would not be able to effectively treat each child that walks through the clinic doors. We are grateful for the decade of support and are excited to see what the next decade has in store.”
