Eight-year-old Charlie Jones and her mother, Leslie, are already making oral health a top priority. Charlie never misses an appointment at Cass County Dental Clinic and carefully follows the dentists' advice.

“This is a big deal for us because it’s not easy for Charlie to feel comfortable at doctor or dentist visits,” Leslie shared.

Living in East Lynne, Charlie has been a patient at the Harrisonville clinic for three years. Ever since her first cavity treatment, both she and her mother have placed great trust in the clinic’s staff.

“She was fully awake during treatment and had an awesome experience — no tears!” Leslie said.

The staff at Cass County Dental Clinic create treatment plans that help children and their families understand how regular care can lead to better, more positive visits. Leslie feels reassured knowing they are committed to Charlie’s long-term oral health.

“I fully trust the ENTIRE staff and Charlie is thriving. She has even developed better daily habits,” Leslie added.

Cass Community Health Foundation opened Cass County Dental Clinic in Belton, Missouri in 2011 to provide comprehensive oral health services for children and teens who are insured by Medicaid or who are low-income and uninsured. In 2023, the clinic served more than 4,000 children, exceeding capacity. As a result, Cass Community Health Foundation has launched a capital campaign, A Lifetime of Smiles, and broke ground for the clinic’s future home at 1000 E. Markey Parkway in Belton, Missouri. This location will increase clinical space and access for quality, compassionate dental care. The new Cass County Dental Clinic is a $5 million project.
