BELTON, Mo., (Mar. 7, 2022) – After a young person lost his front teeth during an ice-skating accident, Cass Community Health Foundation’s Cass County Dental Clinic stepped in to provide rapid, coordinated dental services. Several clinic staff members worked quickly to restore the patient’s smile.

The patient’s front teeth were broken at the gumline after falling and hitting his mouth at the ice-skating rink. Cass County Dental Clinic Director of Dental Programs, Katie Schroeder, answered an emergency call on a Sunday evening and scheduled an evaluation for him the next day. Clinic Patient Care Coordinator, Ashley Wininger, coordinated a referral appointment with a root canal specialist just two days after his fall.

“They got us in the next day and communicated everything that was happening, making sure we were comfortable with the process,” Haley Leone, the patient’s foster parent, said.

After the root canal and additional appointments to prepare for crowns, Cass County Dental Clinic Dentist Dr. Camille Tague and Dental Assistant Bessie Alonzo placed two permanent crowns on the patient’s front teeth.

“The staff at Cass County Dental Clinic were very caring and informative,” Leone said. “His new teeth look great and match his old teeth perfectly. He is extremely happy to have his teeth back. Not having them affected his confidence and now he is happy to show them off.
